The Eye of the World (Author: Robert Jordan)

I believe Robert Jordan is rapidly becoming one of the greatest Fantasy Novelists of our time with this series. The Eye of the World is easily one of the best books I have read in a long time. Setting the stage for a great series, Robert Jordan paints a world so vivid that after a few hours reading, the reader is occasionally shocked to discover themselves back in the real world. The Character Development in this novel is super, though it does not appear to be the point of the series. The novel has scenes of suspense that will keep the reader begging for more, yet its flow is well paced, and never overtiring. Plot is superb, and far outweighs any other aspect of the book, making it great material for the interested reader, but confusing to the light reader.
Addiction Rating: 3.0, Overall Rating: 4.0.
