Few authors are able to grab a reader and force him to sit down and finish a long drawn out novel. Terry Brooks is such an author; this was not his best book. The idea of the Wishsong is marvelous, yet its overall importantance is never augmented with the reasoning required of a great fantasy novel. Suspension of Disbelief not withstanding, this book seemed like it could have used a little polish.
